Super fresh sushi, very generous cuts and excellent quality. Tempura was also spectacular, both veggies and prawn. Service was really friendly, and the interior space was very comfortable too. One of the best sushi places I've tried in Toronto, highly recommend!!

This was my first visit, and both the food quality and service were outstanding. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. The rolls came with a variety of toppings and sauces that made every bite exciting. What really made the experience extra special was the service from Agnes and Chole. They were so kind, professional, and attentive, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the meal. Perfect food, great atmosphere, and amazing service—I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

We were here for a date night and ordered ourselves a taco sushi thing, a sushi platter and tempura shrimps. These were probably the best shrimps I’ve ever had. They were sweet tasting fresh, jumbo shrimps, and came with a warm citrusy soy dipping sauce. That sauce was probably worth bottling and selling itself. The sushi taco was very loaded. Absolutely loved the toppings and flavour profile of it. The sushi platter was not as exceptional as the other two dishes, but nonetheless, the fish was very fresh and tasted really good. The seating is a little uncomfortable as you’re sitting on a metal platform with a very thin cushion. The quality of the seafood makes the place absolutely worth the visit.

Went here for a dinner with my bf yesterday and all I can say is that the food is immaculate. Yes, the price is a little bit higher but you are paying for the QUALITY of the food. The fish and the shrimp are fresh and flavourful (you can definitely tell once you take a bite out of it! One of the servers were surprised I was able to catch the difference and informed us that they bring them in each day and not freezing the shrimp). The space is quiet and simple (not during rush time service) so we were able to get a seating. Servers are great as well, just a little bit difficult to catch their attention sometimes when they are all near the counter area/busy and you are nestled at the far back opposite of the wall so had to wait till one passes by. Overall, will totally come back again to try their seasonals and would recommend for dates!

Came here for a late weekend lunch, place wasn't too busy and we got a table immediately. The tempura was excellent, very fresh and crispy and I liked the variety of vegetables offered. The sushi I thought was okay, I thought the rice texture in the pressed sushi felt a bit overcooked. It also fell apart easily. My friend enjoyed the vegetarian rolls, for some reason one of the rolls marked as vegetarian had imitation crab in it, not sure if that was a mistake. Service was friendly and restaurant had a nice atmosphere.

Had dinner here and it was fantastic! I’ve been to the old location many times, the Eglinton one, and this was my first time at the new Spring Garden location. Food was great, as always. The spicy salmon taco is something I always have to have. It’s super packed and tastes so good. Was pleasantly surprised they offer a weekend omakase special that includes otoro and uni! Was so good and great value for $45. Really nice location and appreciated the washroom door is a push-to-exit so you can kick it and keep your hands clean for the tacos!

My new go-to spot when I’m craving sushi rolls. Different sushi places hit differently—and Hay Sushi nails the flavour and texture profile I look for. The sushi taco especially delivers on all fronts. I haven’t tried much of the raw selection or the omakase yet, so I’m holding off on a 5-star rating for now. What I did try—the rolls, miso pasta, and salad—were all excellent. Service was also great: quick, friendly, and efficient. The decor gives off a high-end vibe that elevates the whole experience. Definitely worth checking out.

Hay Sushi — A hidden gem for sushi lovers! Hay Sushi is my go-to since moving to Toronto! (6+ visits!) Great food quality and a really nice, comfortable atmosphere, e.g. the lighting. Their Creamy Miso Pasta, Yuzu Salmon Oshi and especially the Spicy Salmon Taco are winners! Been here with small groups and even a big party (check my pics!). Price is a tad higher, sushi pieces tend to be on the smaller side and service is good, not amazing lol. It has been moved to a newly refurnished location, just a few store away from the old location, same street. Worth checking out for yourself!
